Marine Chiller Commissioning Engineer

Marine Chiller Commissioning Engineer

The role of Marine Chiller Commissioning Engineer for AERIUS Marine UK sits at the core of our in-service support division. From supporting with the specification and selection of chillers for new build or retrofit projects through installation, commissioning and the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of in-service equipment the role offers a unique opportunity to experience the full product lifecycle.

Primary responsibilities:

Reporting to our Operations Manager, the Marine Chiller Commissioning Engineer is considered a mobile role and will be executed at our clients’ sites, this includes both UK and overseas locations. The role may also, on occasion, require deployment with the client’s vessel to conduct fault diagnosis or trials activities.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Support the engineering team with equipment specification and selection for new build and retrofit projects
  • Carry out commissioning of chillers for new build and retrofit projects
  • Provide local training to operators/maintainers
  • Carry out routine/preventative maintenance on client’s equipment
  • Carry out fault diagnosis activities on client’s equipment and produce written technical reports detailing results and recommendations
  • Carry out corrective maintenance and repairs
  • Communicate/liaise with client on all onsite activities
  • Support with the development of apprentices within the business

Required skills and qualifications:

Essential

  • Full UK Driving License
  • F-Gas 2079 Certificate
  • Proven track record of delivering service activities on marine chillers including electrical and controls systems

Desirable

  • Knowledge of defence standards
  • Security cleared to SC

You must possess excellent interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to organise work and meet scheduled targets and deadlines. You must be able to support the Operations Manager to maintain productivity. You must also have a ‘right first time’ approach and a solutions-orientated attitude to your work.

Full security clearance will be necessary therefore a valid DBS/Disclosure Scotland certificate is mandatory; the charges accrued will be covered by the company.
